Tête-à-tête, Checks & Balances, vintage paper collage on 1930’s bank check, 4″ x 7.5″, 2018, Private collection

This piece is a play on the French tête-à-tête referring to an intimate or private conversation, they are the kind I like best. The Monkey begins his tale reluctantly at first, the Unicorn awaits patiently for him to speak. They have stories of woe and joy to relate to one another. The tree in the window is that of life and hope and symbolic of the regard that can grow between people. Tête-à-tête is also the name of my favorite daffodil. It is a small intimate flower, close the ground, petite in its stature and beautiful blossom. I simply adore the Unicorn Tapestries, they are magical.
Currently on view at the Fisher Gallery through October 6th, 2019.
