I like the idea of the unprotected feet in juxtaposition to the scorpion, which hales from a vintage astrological postcard. The suggestion of the vulnerable toes being stung provokes a reaction in the viewer (and me!). This piece explores temptation and impulse. Why do we do things that are against our best interest? What do we tell ourselves before we act and after? How do we deal with the consequences? Do we repeat it? It is possible nothing new would come about if we didn’t give into these urges, and perhaps many unfortunate outcomes would be avoided…
